Membaca Partisi NTFS di Linux benar - benar mudah, lebih-lebih pada ubuntu. Saya mengetahui NTFS 3G ini waktu masih menggunakan mandriva dulu, dan ketika saya mencobanya di Ubuntu ternyata tidak jauh beda. Tinggal dua baris perintah sudah beres.
Untuk membaca file NTFS masuklah ke console dan ketik
sudo apt-get install ntfs-3g
Kemudian ketik kembali
sudo apt-get install ntfs-config
Untuk membaca Partisi NTFS anda tinggal mengetik pada console
ntfs-config
atau bisa juga dengan memilih menu Applications|System Tools|NTFS Configuration Tools
sehingga keluar kotak ntfs-config.
Pilih Enable write support for internal device serta pilih juga Enable write support for external device.
Nah mudah bukan untuk membaca file NTFS di Ubuntu?

Mounting /media/Data failed.
$LogFile indicates unclean shutdown (0, 0)
Failed to mount '/dev/sda5': Operation not supported
Mount is denied because NTFS is marked to be in use. Choose one action:
Choice 1: If you have Windows then disconnect the external devices by
clicking on the 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon in the Windows
taskbar then shutdown Windows cleanly.
Choice 2: If you don't have Windows then you can use the 'force' option for
your own responsibility. For example type on the command line:
mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sda5 /media/Data -o force
Or add the option to the relevant row in the /etc/fstab file:
/dev/sda5 /media/Data ntfs-3g force 0 0
Saya kurang tahu pastinya, karena waktu tutorial ini saya buat tidak ada masalah, dan sampai sekarang ubuntu saya juga tidak ada masalah dalam membaca file ntfs.
Coba saja ikuti kedua tahap diatas. Saran pertama coba di restart. Yang kedua ikuti choice 2, yaitu masuk ke coman line terus tuliskan mount -t ..... dst. atau buka file yang ada di /etc/fstab kemudian tambahkan parameter /dev/sda5... dst, kemudian simpan dan tutuplah.
